Luxe Pack 2002: Larger Space, More Exhibitors

Luxe Pack Monaco, the professional trade show for luxury goods packaging for fragrances, cosmetics, jewelry, food, wines and spirits, tobacco and tabletop, has increased its exhibitor participation and space for 2002.

The exhibition, which will take place Oct. 23-26 at the Grimaldi Forum in Monaco, will include 320 exhibitors, show organizers said.

This year, Luxe Pack celebrates its 15th anniversary. In honor of this event, the forum will include press conferences and exhibitor-sponsored festivities throughout the show. An evening event will be held at the Espace Fontvielle, where Luxe Pack debuted.

Two Parisian trend offices will present special design areas: “Luxury Without Borders” and “Exceptional Moments: Luxury and Ritual.” A special gallery exhibit will present exhibitor products illustrating these themes.

“Luxury Without Borders,” presented by Peciers Agency, encompasses a dual concept: “Subliminate the Ordinary” highlights basic materials as a break from the norm, according to the Peciers Agency executives. Humorous and off-beat style is mixed with sophistication and craftsmanship faults for a new take on luxury. “Reinvent Illusion,” the second part of the concept, encompasses a disproportionate and almost “magical” environment for a dramatic approach to luxury. Optical illusions and ambiguity between the real and the virtual is accomplished with plays on graphics, orthoptics and kinetics, agency executives said.

“Exceptional Moments: Luxury and Ritual,” presented by Nelly Rodi Agency, encompasses the idea that “more than just an object of added value, the luxury product coveys that something extra, conditioned by emotional relation, which the consumer enters into in purchasing the product,” Nelly Rodi executives said. The idea will be conveyed with the presentation of an artistic installation combining video projections and special lighting effects. In addition, a special selection of collectors’ objects will be displayed.

Expanding on the success its 15-yearsin Monaco, Luxe Pack introduced its first edition of Luxe Pack Brazil in April in São Paolo. The event was “a tremendous success,” according to show organizers. Plans for Luxe Pack Brazil 2003 are in the works and will be released in the coming months.
